Applies to ALL persons/companies storing
personal information about any
Massachusetts Resident

This regulation requires a "comprehensive, written information security program” to protect personal information of Massachusetts and that a person be designated to maintain the program.

	Here is a partial list of the requirements: All laptops and other portable devices must have the data encrypted; The security program must include: ensuring proper authentication of users, processes for granting and withdrawing access privileges, methods of requiring strong passwords, maintaining up to-date-firewalls, anti-virus and other anti-malware programs, training all affected employees; Compliance with the security program must be regularly monitored; Annually, the scope of the security program must be reviewed; Any security breach must be documented including a mandatory post-incident review of events and actions taken; Plus a number of other requirements.
